ICRC has teamed up with the well-known cartoonist Chappatte and Swiss production company, Pointprod, to produce the 11 minute animated documentary, "Death is in the field".

In the documentary Chappatte travels to Lebanon three years after the end of the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah and describes how the population live with the constant threat of death or disfigurement as a result of unexploded cluster munitions scattered during the last three days of the war.

It is the first time that Chappatte, whose work appears in the International Herald Tribune and various Swiss newspapers, has made the transition from paper to screen, combining cartoons, animation and photos to tell a humanitarian story.

Through this novel technique, he hopes to focus people's attention on forgotten conflicts around the world and make them better understand the tragic consequences of war.
