China: The ICRC engages with Chengdu Second People’s Hospital to better help the disabled

Beijing (ICRC) - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegation for East Asia and the Chengdu Second People's Hospital in Sichuan Province entered into a cooperation agreement to better assist people with disabilities.

"Under this agreement signed on March 7th, the ICRC commits to help the hospital renovate its Prosthetics and Orthotics Unit of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department, provide regular professional training to the staff of the Unit to improve their capacities to diagnose and offer services according to international best practices, said Vincent Raymond Ochilet, Deputy head of ICRC's Regional Delegation for East Asia. "These efforts are expected to improve the hospital's orthopedic and prosthetic capacity, so as to provide better rehabilitation services to people with disabilities."
